Dual Boss Feature: Boom Boom + Pom Pom!

Before I say anything, please ignore the blank thought bubble. It was the product of a complete mistake.

One of these bosses is a blast from the past; one of them is brand new; both take 3 hits to the head to defeat. Boom Boom (the tan one) first appeared in Super Mario Bros 3, as the boss of every fortress. He would run and jump and occasionally sprout wings and fly. After being stomped, he would extend spikes from his shell and become temporarily invincible.  His next appearance is in the brand new game Super Mario 3D Land as the boss of half of the airship levels. In this game, he attacks by spinning like a top until he gets dizzy and is vulnerable. After he is stomped, he goes into his shell (rendering him invincible) and bounces around the room.

The pink and obviously female creature is Pom Pom, Boom Boom's counterpart in Super Mario 3D Land. She occupies the rest of the airship levels and, in the final of these, teams up with Boom Boom. She attacks by tossing her boomerangs and jumping. After being stomped, she goes into her shell and hovers, then slams down, trying to squash Mario. Both of them, after being defeated fully, drop a large number of coins and a pipe appears leading to the ending flag.
