Undergrunt Gunners are mole-like mini-bosses in Super Mario Galaxy and uncommon enemies in Super Mario Galaxy 2. In the former, 3 gunners appear in separate galaxies. They can shoot either water bubbles (that push you backward) or lightning balls (that damage you) out of their cannons. To defeat them, the cockpit must be ground-pounded 3 times. Usually, the Gunner is in the middle of some kind of field of obstacles that make it a challenge to reach it. In SMG's sequel, the Gunners ride in floating cannons that shoot Bullet Bills at Mario. They can be defeated by using Yoshi to spit the Bills back at them. They are very rare, only appearing in 2 galaxies, one of which contains no means to defeat them.
